Ashton Harrison and Sydney McKee finished the 2020 Super Trofeo season strong, competing for Wayne Taylor Racing at Sebring International Raceway on November 11-14, 2020.
Harrison earned a victory in the first race and a third place spot in the Pro Am Championship with teammate Andrea Amici, driving the No. 25 “Rely on Red” Harrison Contracting Lamborghini. The 25-year-old American driver went into the weekend chasing her elusive first class win of the season after being on the podium of every previous event.
Harrison and Amici competed in two sprint races over the weekend, each with a mandatory pit stop. The American-Italian duo qualified fifth for race one and earned the pole position for race two. A solid opening stint from Harrison during race one laid the foundation for Amici to claim victory for the team.
In race two, Amici drove first and grabbed a commanding lead. A spin in turn 17 dropped the team to fourth, which Harrison was able to hold onto for the duration.
McKee earned a well-deserved second place finish in her rookie campaign for the LB Cup Championship with a third-place finish in race one at Sebring, and a second-place finish in race two.
Driving the No. 87 FaDa Racing Lambourghini, McKee went into the finale weekend with plenty of confidence, having won in her class during the previous race weekend at Laguna Seca.
The 22-year-old American driver qualified third for both races. With 19 minutes remaining in race one, she had improved her position to second place and after a tough battle, finished in third place. A solid and consistent drive in race two awarded her a second-place finish to cap off her season.
