Shift Up Now Athlete Sally McNulty announced today that she has joined GenRacer/Ricca Autosport for the 2023 TC America Powered by Skip Barber Racing School season.
McNulty will be part of a three-car effort for Ricca Autosport in the premier touring sports car championship. The first-generation racer from Phoenix, AZ will pilot the No. 780 Borla Exhaust LIQUI MOLY Hyundai Veloster N. Teammate and veteran racer Jeff Ricca will pilot the No. 78 LIQUI MOLY GenRacer Hyundai Elantra N, and the third entry will be announced at a later date.
Last season, McNulty formed a partnership with series sponsor Skip Barber Racing School. Piloting the brand new, No. 780 Borla Exhaust Skip Barber 11th Generation Civic Si, she closed out the season with four top-five finishes. In 2023, she’ll advance to the TC class, the second of three run groups in the series.
This also moves McNulty one step closer to achieving her goal of being the first woman to win the overall championship. She’s eager to continue her quest and get the 2023 season started with Ricca Autosport, a team entering its 13th year of racing.
“I have been following the hard work and success this team has had over the years in TC America,” said McNulty. “And I am very excited to hit the racetrack with Ricca Autosport, together with Hyundai, in 2023. Jeff Ricca has eleven years of touring car racing experience and I think with his help, we can make some real waves in the TC class.”
The 2023 TC America Powered by Skip Barber racing calendar includes seven double-header weekends across North America. The season will begin at Sonoma Raceway in March and end in October at the Racing Capital of the World, the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
